- August 21, 2014- Clinic visit: Spinal tap, CSF chemo dose, PEG IV chemo, IV chemo push
- August 22, 2014- Spiked fever, admitted to PCH
- August 28, 2014- Nasal/Sinus cleanout, lumbar puncture and CSF chemo dose, IV chemo push
- September 9, 2014- Discharged from PCH after 2 weeks and 4 days
- September 17, 2014- Consolidation part 2 started
- September 30, 2014- Admitted to PCH for Veno Occlusive Disease (VOD)
- October 1, 2014- Began 21-day study/treatment (defibrotide) for VOD
- October 7, 2014- Debridement surgery on right-leg scar, NOT fungal after culture. Diagnosed as septic after cultures on all 3 lumens return positive for bacterial infection
- October 8, 2014- Medically sedated and intubated, chest tube inserted to drain effusion surrounding right lung
- October 9, 2014- Foley catheter inserted, arterial line placed and peritoneal drain placed in abdomen to drain excess fluid
- October 10, 2014- 5 days of granulocyte (white blood cell) transfusions started
- October 12, 2014- Bacteria identified as corynebacterum striatum (gram positive rods)
- October 14, 2014- Catheter inserted and CRRT (dialysis) started
- October 22, 2014- Surgery to insert a "permanent" catheter for dialysis to prepare for extubation
- October 23, 2014, 10 PM- Body temperature will not rise above 94 degrees, blood pressure continually dropping, poor breath sounds in right side, x-ray ordered
- October 23, 2014- 11- X-ray shows right side is completely clouded after morning x-ray was clear. Sonogram done to search for pockets of fluid
- October 24, 2014, 2 AM- Surgeon called in, he sonograms and finds a large effusion by her right lung. Inserts chest tube and drains 800cc of blood immediately.
- October 24, 2014, 5 AM- After blood continues to drain taken for a CAT scan
- October 24, 2014, 6 AM- Surgeon brings news that the CAT scan shows an artery on her right side that is spewing blood into her chest. Inserts a second drain to relieve pressure and stabilize her enough to take to OR.
- October 24, 2014, 7:30 AM- Taken into emergency surgery with her surgeon, 3 of his surgical practice peers and the cardiac team.
- October 24, 2014, 2:30 PM- After being able to say our goodbyes, Lucy breaths her last breath as her heart tires and she is relieved of her earthly pain.
